Meet Leyna Butcher!
I have a twisting story. I have been a beach lifeguard, a podcast host, and a professional photographer.
I began working at SDUSD at 17, right out of high school as a Special Education Technician. I went to school at night and earned a degree at SDSU to become an elementary school teacher. While in school discovered I had an aptitude for math which led me to teaching algebra and geometry in the Sweetwater Union High School District. I loved it but stepped out of the classroom to have a family. This is when my passion for photography flourished! I started a business in 2010 but found myself being called back into the classroom where I get to connect to kids while sharing my joy of being behind a camera. Win! Win!
I spend most of my free time cheering for my kids in their sports teams, stand-up paddle boarding, and hiking all over San Diego.
