Meet Mr. Lehr!
Hi, welcome to my little corner of the web. My name is Todd Lehr. I represent two departments at Mark Twain High School, one of them English, and the other, Special Education. This is my 15th year teaching at Twain, and my 22nd as a teacher. I work at Twain as an Education Specialist, helping to assist students with mild to moderate disabilities in accessing the general education curriculum. I also have the privilege of teaching two periods of mainstream English.
Specifically, I teach 4 sections of English, including Contemporary Voices 1 and 2, as well as Expository Reading and Writing Curriculum 1 and 2(ERWC). The ERWC curriculum is designed by the University of California system, along with the help from high school English teachers from around the state. The goal of ERWC is to give students a rich and diverse assortment of texts with a focus on rhetorical approaches to reading and writing in order to prepare them for the demands of college English. Successful completion of these courses affords students opportunities to earn college credits.
When I’m not teaching, I’m active with my family, I love to surf, travel, play my guitar, and I enjoy making surfboards and doing woodwork as hobbies. I have three children who also attend City Schools:)
